Trained to Heal
Just as hospitals associate with medical schools to train young people to enter into the medical profession, the Center also has ChiLel schools to train ChiLel professionals. There is a Zhineng Qigong Academy and one-month and three-month instructor training schools. The Academy, established in 1992, has a two-year training program for young men and women under the age of thirty who have the minimum of a high-school education. The one-month and three-months instructor-training programs are for anyone interested in ChiLel. I was told that there are typically more than a thousand students in both programs in school.
The BfArM is located in Bonn. In the course of moving the government's seat from Bonn to Berlin, the Berlin/Bonn Act specified that the authority was to move from Berlin to Bonn as a compensation measure for the Federal City Bonn. Revenue and expenditure of the BfArM are described in Chapter 1510 of the Federal Budget; the sound budgetary management is monitored by the Federal Ministry of Health ( Bundesministerium für Gesundheit, BMG ) and the Federal Audit Office ( Bundesrechnungshof ). The revenue mainly results from fees charged for official acts. Additional revenues are from mandates assigned by the European Medicines Agency EMA and other healthcare institutions. The BfArM does not engage in any promotion and has no income based on advertising.
As part of FDA’s Initiative To Reduce Unnecessary Radiation Exposure From Medical Imaging , FDA has recommended that health care providers consider examinations that use little or no ionizing radiation exposure, such as ultrasound or MRI, if medically appropriate. Ultrasound imaging does introduce energy into the body, and laboratory studies have shown that diagnostic levels of ultrasound can produce physical effects in tissue, such as pressure oscillations with subsequent mechanical effects and rise in temperature. Therefore, FDA recommends that health care providers consider ways to minimize exposure while maintaining diagnostic quality when using ultrasound. As with all other imaging modalities, the principles of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) should be practiced by health care providers.
